Would like a place to stay for 5 or so days. Want to have a cooking class and explore the area. Will have a couple of cars. Maybe having the host provide a meal or two and going out also.
Any ideas?

Based upon my original post, we have narrowed our travels to Tuscany. Thus my inquiry is specific to Tuscany and hoping someone had a positive experience at a place they have actually stayed versus providing a link which lists numerous places without input from the Rick Steves travelers. The link requires me to trust the advertising "brochure" that is provided for the potential visitor to believe.
Richard, I think it's important to state your general budget.
You can have a cooking class even at hotels so no need to stay in an agriturismo if that is the only reason.
How much luxury do you need/want?
Tuscany is large--which area are you thinking about?
Will you be driving from Florence,, Siena or elsewhere?
What is destination AFTER the rural stay?
