staying in april, already have hotel, would like to visit switzerland, is lugano worth it, would rather see a more swiss town, not sure if i will get back to europe or not and might be my only chance, or is over 4 days worth it in just bellagio. husband gets bored easy. thx

You asked a similar question awhile back and received a detailed answer. Can you pls further refine your question? The Bernina Exoress train route described has incredible scenery.
Lugano is not my favorite , the language is Italian, so not as much Swiss influence as other areas.

If you go to Lugano, you will be taking a bus, not a train, from Menaggio after the taking the ferry from Bellagio.

I have not been to Lugano. Last week, while staying in Varenna, I did a day trip on the Bernina "regular" train to Ponsetrina Switzerland and back. This was very easy. From Bellagio, you would add a 15 minute ferry ride to Varenna. By taking the regular rather than special panoramic Bernina train, you will have much more flexibility in train schedule, not need advanced reservations, but still have fine views. You could choose to stop at any Swiss town(s) along the way from Tirano to St. Moritz. About half way or so, you cross from the Italian speaking to German and Romansh speaking part of Switzerland. Lake Como has beautiful scenery, but the Bernina route is more spectacular, and very different from Lake Como.

Thank you for the replies. Yes I did ask a while ago while planning, I had a brain tumor removed 9 months ago and I get short term memory issues sometimes. sorry
