We are trying to figure out how much a reasonable cab should cost from our hotel, Paris Marriott Hotel Champs-Elysees, to the Paris Airport CDG. Can anyone suggest a reasonable cab ride that we should expect to pay? Thank you!
Other users of this forum have recently paid up about 70 euros each way. See those notes at https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/transportation/taxi-prices-in-paris.
Please note that you posted this in the Italy section of the forum. You'll probably get more answers if you post it in France.
I paid about €80 but it was a very early morning ride, so night charges may have been added.
If you're interested in cheaper options, there's airport shuttles available, also.
Can anyone point me to website for information? The information we have gotten so far is useful but, websites would also be helpful. Thank you.
Fixed rate is 48 euro + 1 euro per bag. Have your hotel call for you, that way you get a reputable cab.
Confirm price with the driver.
gerri is speaking of a taxi in Rome to the airport; a taxi in Paris is completely different.
As of last September, the fare was 48 euro from the 10th to CDG
VTC are private car services which have fixed rates, but taxis have variable rates depending on the time of day, speed of traffic, and distance. It could be anywhere from 38 to 70 euros. Perhaps Gerri was transported in a VTC, or are taxi drivers now negotiating rates?? This week we paid 38 from the 10th to CDG with a fast driver and good traffic conditions.
I hope Gerri comes back and gives more details. I've never heard of a fixed rate or negotiated rate in Paris after all the years I've lived and visited there. This is something new.
