Siena and Venice hotels and tours

We are planning a trip in May to Venice and Tuscany and trying to decide where to stay.

We are trying to narrow our choices of hotels in Siena and Venice - any thoughts on:

Hotel Palazzo Ravizza or Hotel Athena in Siena?
Hotel Al Codega in Venice?

We are also interested in finding a good local guide to take us on a half day trip to wineries or the hill towns in Tuscany.

I do not know how many you are but I have an apartment suitable from 3 to 6 persons (3 beds) in Florence and have a friend who has a lovely bed and breakfast. Many tours are organized to the chianti region and Maremma lovely villages. Fron Florence, there are several tours organized but I would recommend tuscan-wine-tours.com or winetourintuscany.com
