Hello, I am searching for clean and quiet hotels within walking distance to the major sites of Rome. Thanks in advance for any recommendations you might have.

What's your nightly hotel budget in euros, and how many people per room?

I would like to keep it under $230/night Eu and there will be 1 person in a room (2 rooms).

We love Hotel Smeraldo - easy walking distance to nearly everything, clean and good breakfasts, super helpful staff, and reasonably priced for Rome.

You probably would get more and better responses if you posted your question in the correct section. This section for reviews and not general questions.

For walking to the most popular sights, I'd suggest you look at a hotel property near the Pantheon. It's a very central location and good restaurants are available around there. See Booking.com or Hotels.com.

We usually stay in the same neighborhood at the San Pietro/Ottaviano metro stop that's just down the street from the Vatican Museum. We find it easy to get there on the metro system from Roma Termini.

Thank you for all the replies. I'm new to this site, so still trying to learn how to navigate it. I appreciate all the feedback. :)

OP as you are new to the Forum you should make time to use its SEARCH option. On the very top in the Title Page to the left side you should see 5 horizontal stacked lines. Click on them and up comes the SEARCH bar. Your question has been asked and answered VERY often over the years.

And as Frank mentioned POST in the Italy section not the Italy Hotel Reviews section in order to get more recommendations

We love Hotel Smeraldo! The location is fabulous and it includes a good breakfast. There is also a roof top that you can sit out and enjoy the sounds of the city in the evening. We will be returning for another visit the end of May and will be staying here again!
