I just need a little clarification. Do trains that run between Belfast and Dublin only come in and out of Dublin Connolly? It looks like we're going to have to transfer via the LUAS tram link. What is everyone's experience with this link in making your train connections? Thanks!

The answer to your first question is 'yes'. The LUAS tram link goes direct from Connolly to Heuston, from where you catch the train to Galway. Journey time between the two stations is 14 minutes, not including waiting for the tram. See www.luas.ie , and www.irishrail.ie for the trains.
