Pinecrest and it's owners Liam and Helen represent everything that Rick Steves recommends. I can't applaud them enough! It's a great value for the money, the rooms are clean, and the full Irish breakfast is ridiculously good :-) The location is quiet, but only a 5-minute walk from the Medieval Mile. Helen offered us more hospitality and generosity than we could've ever hoped for. Going to our first hurling match with Liam was the type of experience that would be seen in one of Rick Steves' shows. Our three nights there along with everything else in Kilkenny was unforgettable! I don't think we could ever go back to Ireland without going back to Kilkenny, and when we go back to Kilkenny, the only place we'll stay is with Liam and Helen at Pinecrest!
