Need Reservations (B+B/Hotel)last 2 Weeks in April

Hi Everyone
We are seniors flying into Doblin and have the 2 last weeks to tour. I am finding prearrangements complex and time consuming.
My wife is more of a free spirit type of gal, while I prefer a more defined schedule. We already have our "bookends" (arrival/departure) accommodations (both out of Dublin) are are renting a car. How much time is involved in "winging it" and how much more expensive are last minute decisions?. The flexibility is attractive but my insecurities and (the hassles of last minute accommodations) nag at me. Any input will be appreciated.
Regards
Bill (and Carole)

I'm thinking that in April, which is not high season for Ireland, you won't have much trouble finding B&B's or hotels on the fly, and it probably won't be too time consuming. I would try to get a list of accommodations (from a guide book, Irish travel website, town websites, B&B listings, etc.) ahead of time for the places on your itinerary and as soon as you know where you're going to end up each day, then start contacting those in that town.

This section is for reviews of people who have been to Ireland. Suggest you post on the regular Ireland section for more responses. However. As already said, you should have no problems in April and agree with wife to book as you go. The only real problem would be of you are in a town that has some festival going,on at the time. We always go off season and only once had a problem due to a jazz festival. Get some guidebooks and see what they suggest and also post on the Ireland site with the list of places you are going to be saying and will probably get suggestions. Also many large towns or cities have travel information centers and they are a wealth of information. Enjoy.
