We are part of the RS 8 day Ireland that begins in Ennis on May 27. Our flight is booked to arrive at Shannon two nights early. On a previous RS Tour, we had no problems booking two nights at the same hotel as the tour. Unfortunately I now realize our tour, May 27, coincides with a music festival in Ennis and lodgings are pretty much all booked for the nights we need , Friday 25 and Saturday 26. I called RS Travel Center today and received good advice about looking to Galway for more lodging and we could add the Aran Islands and Galway to our trip, taking a bus for Shannon to Galway, then back to Ennis for the tour. So far my online searching of RS guidebook lodging sites has found the same problem - - many Dates Unavailable. I’m assuming this is a very popular festival! I’m not desperate yet but wondering about further looking in Galway or other options to explore that part of Ireland.

Did you try this one: St. Judes in Galway. Sometimes they don't do online bookings during big events, but may have availability We contacted (via email) them about a stay during the Galway Races.

Hi cer, we stayed at the Old Ground Hotel in Ennis last June. Nice hotel, good location. Check for availability (email - reservations@oldgroundhotel.ie). Good luck! PS - great tour!

Do any RS followers know of any white-washed, thatched roof lodgings with fireplaces and excellent breakfast, tea? Doing the West Coast starting around Dingle and moving along to Upper Coast to Giant's Causeway. Early to mid October.
