Any recommendations for accommodations for 2 nights mid April in Kenmare. Mid range budget and would like to stay in town. We made reservations at the Wander Inn w/o realizing it was above the pub. So looking for a new spot!

Haven't stayed in the town ourselves, but my first stop when researching accommodations is usually booking.com. Their filters and map feature allows me to narrow things down pretty quickly.
For a dummy booking in mid April I'm seeing a number of affordable options within a couple of blocks of the Wander Inn.

We stayed at a b+b right next to town - just a 5-10 minute stroll. We really enjoyed our experience at Rockcrest House. Also close to the druid ring and Cromwell's bridge. https://visit-kenmare.com/rockcresthouse.html

Another recommendation for Rockcrest House. It was lovely. Had great bedding. Hosts were very accommodating when we had to arrive late. Great breakfast

We stayed at Sallyport in 2017 and would do so again. Easy walk to town and like staying in a friend’s home.

i stayed at the Mountain View B& B, which we loved - but it may be farther than you like, about a 20 minute walk to town. A good friend stayed at the Bridge Street Townhouse, which is in town but off the streets where there are pubs. She said it was excellent! you are right, there are a lot of hotels which are pubs with rooms above, which is did not want either.
