We’ll be in Kenmare in June of 2027. Does anyone have any recommendations for a hotel or B&B? We’re looking to spend under $300 but will go over if it’s amazing. Food is important and location is somewhat important. It doesn’t have to be in the city center but not 30 minutes outside either. We’ll need parking. Thank you so much!
I stayed at the Park Hotel Kenmare in March and loved it. I used my benefits from my Chase Sapphire credit card which brought the price down to $300 a night which included breakfast. I got a free upgrade to a giant suite overlooking the water. The hotel is owned by the former owner of Blue Bottle Coffee. He has an extensive art collection so a tour of it is included in our stay which we enjoyed. The hotel has other tours for free so my husband took the garden tour which he really enjoyed. Service was excellent. Grounds and views from the hotel are stunning. They also gave us a late check-out for free. They have their own parking lot for free. We took the train from Dublin to Cork, picked up our retal car at the train station. Fortunately the drive was easy and you hit the hotel just as you enter Kenmare.
Lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. We loved the Lime Tree Inn which you can easily get to through the parking lot. Every evening we enjoyed a swim in the Spa pool. We hired Paul Brown for an all-day tour of the Ring of Kerry who I recommend. On that day after our swim, we decided to just do room service which was excellent. We also got a $100 credit as part of our Chase benefits which covered our room service.
We stayed at The Happy Pig Guesthouse in May 2025. It is just on the outskirts of Kenmare. Parking, good breakfast, good communication and under your price range. There is a path that cuts through some fields that you can walk to get into town.
We loved our stay at Rockcrest. Parking, amazing breakfast and easy walk into town. For us it was a great location for exploring the area.
