We will be staying in Galway in March one night and I am rethinking my current reservations.
We have two rooms for my family booked at The Park House. The reservation covers parking and breakfast. It is a higher price for the accommodations, and thinking perhaps too much. $790 US for one night (both rooms, parking, breakfast for 3) if I converted the Irish 535 correctly. We are on vacation, but..
My thought once I am looking again at the cost and at the google map of the hotel street area I see The Hyde Hotel just down the block. Not as nice I know, and I have not checked parking nor worry breakfast not included. It is only $340 US for 2 rooms. Much less and more reasonable.
Asking for knowledgeable feedback about Galway Eyre Square area hotels. Any thoughts on the Hyde Hotel?

We've stayed at the Galway Eyre Square Hotel, and it was perfectly fine in 2019. It didn't stand out as exceptional or anything, but it was comfortable.

This was a few years ago, and isn’t right on Eyre Sq., but Petra House B&B (yes, not an actual hotel, either), was a great stay for the two of us, breakfast included. There are other B&B’s on the same street, too, but we stayed at Petra House.
It’s an easy half-mile walk to Eyre Square, if that’s close enough for you and your family.
