Dingle, Greenmount B&B and trad

We stayed two nights at the Greenmount Guesthouse in Dingle and were very pleased with the selection. The house has been expanded to include a number of rooms and was more like an inn, but our room was very comfortable with a modern, spacious bathroom. Greenmount is now run by the children of the original owner and they are busy, but efficient, and found ways to be helpful and friendly; for example, the son volunteered to drive us to the downtown of Dingle for a dinner. Town is just a few blocks away; an easy sidewalk stroll though uphill on the return. Met the father and he was engaging and very gracious too. Had two delicious breakfasts with a nice selection, served in a spacious dining area with views of the harbor and green hills beyond. We had a fun dinner at a friendly local pub (Marina Inn Bar) directly across from the harbor with some good trad music; other musicians brought in their instruments and joined in. One of the highlights of the trip was when the gentleman sitting next to us burst out in a booming baritone solo, unaccompanied, about the girls of Armaugh.
