Derrin Guest House B&B, Larne, Northern Ireland (near ferry)

I stayed at the Derrin Guest House, Larne, Northern Ireland, for two nights on my way from Scotland (by ferry) to Dublin (by train). I received a warm welcome from the owners (Ivy and Siebe) upon arrival. My room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was very good. Ivy helped me book a day trip to Carrick-a-Rede, Giant's Causeway and Belfast for the following day. I was picked up near the guesthouse and was dropped off at the railway station in Belfast. It was an easy and scenic ride back to Larne.

Ivy and Siebe were very kind and went above and beyond to help me make my connections both for the day trip and for my train the next day. The guesthouse is within walking distance of the Larne ferry port and very close to the railway station. The guest house was very reasonably priced. After a month of traveling and staying in places all over Ireland, Wales, England and Scotland, the Derrin Guesthouse was by far the warmest welcome I received and the most helpful in making my limited time in Northern Ireland memorable. (I recently returned from a month trip to Ireland and the UK as a solo traveler using public transportation and walking).
