Cassidys Hotel in Dublin?

Has anyone stayed at the Cassidys Hotel in Dublin? We are staying there with a Best of Ireland tour in a few weeks. The location looks really good though their Yelp reviews are quite mixed. I'd trust RS travelers much more than Yelpers.

Thanks

The reviews of this hotel on TripAdvisor include quite a number of recent poor and terrible reviews. It is a budget hotel so one can't expect much but people who stayed there said it is shabby, has small rooms, cleaning is not well done, beds are not comfortable, pillows are thin, and the breakfast (you pay for it) is not much. You should check out the poor and terrible reviews on Tripadvisor to see what people who have stayed there are saying.

Thanks Terri. Hmmmm.... I wonder why Rick Steves is using this hotel. Have you stayed at Cassidys yourself?

We stayed there several years ago and had no problems. Out of curiosity, I checked their reviews on Tripadvisor to see what had happened to them based on what other person just stated. Most reviews were positive, in fact the majority were positive. Based on this information, we would stay there again. Read the reviews yourself. Also try posting in the regular Ireland section and you might get more responses, this section is for reviews of,places people have already been to in Ireland, hope this helps.

No, I haven't stayed there myself but I did look up reviews for you. It might be fine but having a number of complaints about similar issues can be smoke warning of a fire ahead. A lot of times a place will look nice from the outside or the photos they choose to put on their site but when you get there, you get the rest of the story in the form of rooms not being clean, rude staff, nonworking things in the rooms (like ac, heat, toilets that overflow, showers that don't work), etc which can ruin your trip. Remember RS chooses less expensive options and we usually get what we pay for (and fail to get what we didn't pay for). I hope it will work out well for you.
