On a Sunday evening we were looking for a local, authentic Irish bar/restaurant.
We were traveling through Castletownbere, County of Cork. Many restaurants were closed on
a Sunday evening. We came across a small place called MURPHY'S RESTAURANT AND GUESTHOUSE.
The place is small, but the owner, John, wanted to accommodate us. He sent us to a local pub for about 20 minutes and asked us to come back. We did and enjoyed our atmosphere and dinner so much!! The food was suberb!
John's wife was the chef and his daughter, our waitress. When the meal was close to the end, John came and told us how his grandparents built this restaurant and his is carrying on the tradition. This restaurant should be in your book of Ireland, for sure! You should not miss this little gem in Ireland!
