Updated 2027 Budapest Meet Up Thread.

The concept worked pretty well in late 2026, so for those planning 2027 here is a wall to write on. We still have a few months left in 2026 so use the old thread for those. I just know a lot of you plan far in advance.

If you care coming and you maybe want to meet the other RS type whose trip is overlapping your then .... There were three that I know of since July of this year. The one I attended was fun. It was great to meet who I have been exchanging Ideas and learning from.

If you post below, I will add here because once we get a few hundred posts on the thread, finding anyone becomes difficult. I know from other threads and from PMs of others that are coming, but to respect their privacy, I will only put names on the list that have posted on this thread.

I would love to come, but I plan to be in France in April/May 2027. I was there back in 2012 and loved it. I think the Forum needs a separate category for "MEET UPs" because other than the recent ID meet-up which I attended, I haven't seen the 2 others you refer to. I'll have to do a search and try to find them. I LOVED the ID meet-up and it was so well organized.

Laurie Beth, there arent any dates yet. The last one was about 2 weeks ago. Just six RS types that happened to be in town on the same day. Prior to that in the second half of the year I know of two other, both with 3 people but neither organized in the forum. Hee hee, I even replied, but that was 2025. And I am a senior & prone to senior moments. I still think we need a separate category to highlight these meet-ups. I've found them to be SO uplifting & good for getting me out & about to discuss world topics such as packing, whether to wear a money belt, best way to get from location x to location y: all the important topics.

Best I can help with is Budapest. So if you are coming next year put your dates in a post and we see if someone else pops up with the same dates. Yes, its always healthy to meet new people.

I will go first. Looks like my dates are May 14-27.

I have actually met up with at least 7 forum travelers in Budapest (not counting this most recent meetup of 6 of us) over the past few years and really enjoyed it.
