Sir James MacMillan, quite a well known and important modern Scottish Composer.

He has a strong Roman Catholic faith, and has written a number of masses along with his other work. He is well known in the south of Scotland for the Cumnock Tryst- an important music festival held annually in his home town of Cumnock.

There is almost nothing published about this so it shouldn't be too full of tourists. The Hungarian opera society sends its members tips on performances around town is how I found it.

There is another concert on the 14th at the Liszt Academy, although I believe you need to book that concert and there is a charge . https://www.rsno.org.uk/liveevent/rsno-chorus-european-tour-2025/

Yes, I saw that one. 1) I am cheap and free is better. 2) I think that one is all orchestral and I do prefer some choir. 🤣

The richness of aromas and potential of these grape varieties are often embodied in complex, special quality batches. TTM, Both are choir, I do agree that free is better but a top price of around £16 (about US$22) is a fraction of what you would pay for such a concert in the UK.
The MacMillan piece takes its inspiration from the St Aloysius Jesuit Church in Glasgow- a Church which is open daily, and looks interesting. No, I've never been there but it's on my list now.

On a different, but timely theme, it is interesting to see on the St Aloysius website that Glasgow is now recognised as a European City of Jewish Heritage, with the Scottish Jewish Heritage Centre being at the nearby Garnethill Synagogue- fascinating what you learn from an unconnected event 1,000 miles away.
