Santorini Sunset HELP

Oia, Fira, Imerovigli...... I love all 3.... but in between ...... which hotels/ resorts / places to stay have Sunset Views?

For example, The MOD, a vegan hotel, has great prices, and I love that they are vegan... but does NOT offer the sunset view...

Can someone help..... Getting married in Santorini ... and I've never been there nor been to Greece.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Much Love and Support in YOUR travels

If you ask for help in generalities, you will get generalities in return ... remember, when you start a new thread, you have to repeat the information you gave in earlier threads... people should not have to hunt back for your various postings to get basic facts.

Here are my generalities OIA is lovely with views, but during too mch of day is beleaguered by huge cruise=crowds and package-tour bus mobs, unless you pay €€€€ for super-luxe hideaway places ... Imervogli also has lovely views, and posh places for less than Oia, but is somewhat isolated, needs car or taxi for nightlife FIRA is busy & buzzy for nightlife, but too trafficky by day... has sunset views w privacy but the price is steeeep steps down cliff face. FIROSTEPHANI is not on your list, perhaps because not pushed by travel agents, but my longtime favorite with man sunset-view hotels right on cliff-edge, many with pools and honeymoon suites, yet its on the north fringe of Fira, overlooked & bypassed by crowds & busses, so it's serene both night & day, yet an easy 15-20 minute walk on rim-side path (or secret flagstoned lane) to all the shops, attractions and nightlife.... those staying here never need rent a car, or perhaps just for a day to zoom around the island.

For specifics, I'd need to know at least Estimated dates ("May" is not enough), length of stay, and your desired budget range per night (What are "great prices" in your view?) And what constitutes a Sunset View? There are many lovely sunsets, in whch the sun goes down over the tiny outline of a low island on the horizon. There are only a limited # in Oia, where the sun is seen going directly into the ocean. Is this something that is 100% required to make your honeymoon hotel complete (there truly are peoplel requiring that). If so, there is onlly ONE Greece forum expert who has that answer -- Brotherleelove, who knows Every single hotel in Oia (he's been going there, and ONLY there, annually since about 1985), and who posts mainly on trip advisor, and patiently gives full descriptions when asked about specific hotels.

In my experience, about the caldera view /sunset view -- those who have it will show it in pictures on their website ... and if they avoid such photos and focus their camera on bathrooms and bedspreads... they aint got it.

Look at Lithies Traditional Homes in Firostefani. Gorgeous views, exceptional service from Maria and reasonable pricing for location and accommodations. We celebrated our anniversary in the "Eros" home and it was perfect!

Esperas has sunset views if there are sunsets. We were there four nights and never saw one. Nature does what it wants, when it wants. .

Be careful where your ceremony is performed in regard to having some privacy. We were sitting poolside at our hotel in Oia when a wedding ceremony began near us, in an area above the pool and bar. It was very noisy around the bar, rather disrespectful, machines going, etc.. Hotel guests started yelling at the bartenders to be quiet and let the wedding proceed. There was no respect. There were supposed to be sunset views, But never saw a sunset in four days there.

We were just in Santorini at the end of May and I had similar questions before we went. Imerovigli in my opinion has the best sunset views. Not only is it one of the highest points, it faces west so no matter what time of year it is, you will have an outstanding sunset view. Also, we stayed at Above Blue Suites and I can't say enough about this place! The service/staff was outstanding and the view from our room (the Heaven Suite) was incredible...along with our own private hot tub. Another bonus of this boutique hotel was the location...the entrance was right off the road so being picked up and dropped off, we didn't have to walk super far to get to our hotel. There are A LOT of stairs in Santorini! Fira and Firostefani (which is bascially just between Imero and Fira) would have good sunset views but will have a lot more people and busyness. The cruise ships port in Fira. I personally liked the more quiet life in Imerovigli and then if we wanted to venture out we could. Have fun!!
