Athens full day guide recommendations

I'm a big fan of using the RS guide book/recommendations for City guides. On numerous trips I have made advance arrangements for a guide from the recommendations within the guide book. To me rather than "cold calling" a guide in a new country Rick's pre existing relationships sure have lead to great guides/experiences! I have normally contact every guide listed and then review their responses to find the best match...and availability. Once committed all guides have gone on to help me with additional arrangements and recommendations.

Actually, in many countries we have done the same thing with much success. Unfortunately, we haven’t found guide contact info for Athens and we hoped to get a name through RS’s site. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond.

Avoid Hop-on Hop-Off buses and others so-called guide drivers who will drive you around town, they are useless for visiting Athens where most of the sites are in the same area which is largely pedestrianized
