We are doing a tour of Germany in July. We will be ending our tour at the Hilton Munich City. How is the best way to catch the train fron the Hilton City to Frankfurt Airport?
Thanks for any help
go out of the hotel via the door into the Rosenheimer Platz S-Bahn Station.
Board any S-Bahn going towards Hauptbahnhof (main train station) and go 4 stops
In the Hauptbahnhof board a train for Frankfurt am Main Flughafen,
If you can't find the door in the Hilton, ask a member of staff
Use the DB website or app to book and plan your journey https://int.bahn.de/en
I have a couple of follow up questions. Is it better to purchase my train tickets before i get to Germany or wait until i get to the train station? Next question: Do i have to pass through TSA at the Munich Airport to get to the train station?
Thanks agin
TSA only operates in the United States and at Pre Clearance Airports for flights to the USA. Frankfurt is not one of them.
Next question: Do i have to pass through TSA at the Munich Airport to get to the train station?
This does not make sense. Did you mean the Frankfurt Airport? The train station is before airport security.
Frank
As in the first reply i am to take a S Bahn to Munich Airport. I wanted to make sure that the train station is not within the airport. That is why i asked.
Thanks for the followup
sorry, both your post title and question refer to going from Munich to Frankfurt

Indeed, your other thread indicates you are flying out of Frankfurt Airport.

The main train station (Hauptbahnhof) is in the center of Munich and the S-Bahn has trains every 5 minutes or so from Rosenheimer Platz, where the Munich City Hilton is located, to the Hauptbahnhof. When you buy a ticket, make it from Munich Rosenheimer Platz to Frankfurt Flughafen, then the ticket will include the S-Bahn connection.
The direct trains from Munich Hbf to Frankfurt airport take two different routes, One goes through Ulm and Stuttgart, and the other goes through Nuremberg and Wuerzburg. You can specify a stopover of a few hours if you want to visit one of these cities on the way to Frankfurt Airport.

There is an S-Bahn station within the airport, but it is in the public area of the airport, between the terminals. It is not within security or within the out-of-Schengen (airside) part of the airport. Munich Hbf is nowhere near the airport.
You would not need to go through security or immigration (passport control) to get to the station.
If you are arriving at MUC from an out-of-Schengen country (US), you would need to go through immigration to get out of the out-of-Schengen part of the airport, but you would have to do that regardless, to go anywhere in Schengen.
The only time you would go through TSA at an airport is at a gate to get onto an airplane going to the US (I've had to do that twice, once in Jan, 2002, a few months after 9-11).
