Recommendations for places to stay in Duesseldorf

Last year I stayed at the ibis Dusseldorf Hauptbahnhof. It is incredibly convenient for getting around Dusseldorf or taking the train elsewhere. I was in Dusseldorf to attend Karnival there and in Cologne, so easy tranport was one of my top priorities. I realize that the budget-oriented ibis hotels are not everyone's choice, I find them consistently inexpensive, clean, friendly, and spartan.

Hotel Bismarck , a 3 star on Bismarckstrasse, located ca. 2 mins opposite of Düsseldorf central station.

Keep in mind that Düsseldorf central station is a hub for the S-U Bahn going out to numerous outlying districts and towns, Krefeld, Neuss, etc as well as the airport, a very extensive subway network.

Ruby Luna Hotel & Bar, Kasernenstrasse, Düsseldorf,
Central to visit Oldtown, River Rhine, Königsallee etc and often a cheap rate.
