Recommendations for a Chistmas in Garmisch

I am going to take my family to Germany over Christmas. Myself, wife, and 2 children 4 & 7. I have decided that Garmisch would be a good place to stay since most of Germany will be shutdown from mid-day on the 24th through the 26th. Garmisch offers a good chance for snow, ski slopes will be open, as well as the lifts to the Zugspitze. I believe that ice skating and tobogganing will be open as well. What I am interested in finding is a place to stay, and would love for it to offer a package that includes a Christmas Eve dinner and some sort of festivities or something special for the kids. I would also like to have a nice meal on Christmas day, and anything else in a package to make this Christmas a memorable experience, sleigh ride, Christmas singing, music, social activity etc. If anyone has gone or lives in the area that knows of a place that does something like this can you make a recommendation? If there are no recommendations on a package I can search around and find a place to stay maybe some good recommendations on good places that will offer Christmas Eve and Christmas dinners.

Yes, but not at Christmas. If you want a broader feel for the property look at the reviews on booking.com

I an not sure what your budget is either as that may be a factor.

mph, thanks for the suggestion. This place looks nice. t does have some pretty stark reviews. It seems people really loved it or hated it. I will keep it in mind though. I should call and ask them about dinners.

Carol, This place looks really nice but it has a 6 night min stay so it looks to be unavaliable to me. It also has 2 of the nights I need booked already :(

Just be aware... many lodgings in ski resort towns have minimum stay obligations over the Christmas break.

That last hotel recommendation, Edelweiss, is for active duty service members only.

Take a look on Trip Advisor for Garmisch. You are sure to find some hotels with Christmas offers.

I suggested Edelweiss as a place for recommendations, not a place to stay for non-military, There are english speaking Local Nationals and of course US that live in Garmisch-Partenkirchen that work there. Just a suggestion and I do not want to burden them or cause confusion.
