EasyPass-RTP

Does anyone here have access to the Germany EasyPass-RTP for expedited entry into Germany?

If so, what was registration like, did you find the officers spoke English and has it saved you time entering Germany?

Hi Frank, Yes I got it a few years ago. It saves quite a bit of time as you use the automated gantry for citizens rather than the 'other' Q which can sometimes be a lot longer. A red light will go off alerting the immigration officer that they need to check your entry/exit from Schengen, which makes sense as you're not an EU citizen. But there's no wait there.

The most difficult part of the exercise is actually finding the EasyPass office. (I did this in FRA). Even the border police didn't seem to know where it was. I assume they speak fluent English, but I speak German so that wasn't an issue. I downloaded the application ahead of time & filled it out on the plane. I was in & out of the office located outside security in 10 minutes max. I did it on a longer layover, just to be safe. There's nothing attached to your passport, the chip reads that you're enrolled. So it expires with your passport. I hope directions in my original thread help, just keep asking officials, and if the office hasn't moved, the first signage is right at the foot of the escalator to the correct office.

I found the responses to my original post lukewarm, "Gee why would we need that"?? Well now that we're still waiting for ESTAS, I've been through that gantry at least 9 times, so yes, it's totally worth it. Good luck!

I registered for EasyPass today and I thought some might like to hear--or read--my experience.

I flew into Frankfurt and fortunately my flight was the only one in at the time and immigration was quick.

I arrived at Terminal 2 and took the Skyline train to Terminal 1.

At the bottom of the escalarots, you will find the Bundespolezei Service Center. Walk in then bear right for the enrollment center. There is a sign.
There was no one ahead of me and it only took about 7-10 minutes for the whole procedure. The officer told me it would be valid in about two hours. He spoke English.

All I needed to give was a filled out application and my passport. He didn't need my Global Entry card.

No charge for the registration and from now on I can use the egates when entering Germany.

In Munich Airport, the police office (which is where you go to register for EasyPass)
is (or at least was) located in the plaza between terminals 1 and 2. If you came in
on LH or UA or Star Alliance, exit the terminal (as in Frankfurt, you will have to clear
security), go into the open-air plaza, turn to the left and go up to the first floor of
the office building complex. If I remember correctly, you have to stand outside if
there is a line of people and they admit you one at a time.

I registered in Frankfurt and my experience was similar to Frank II, easy and quick.

Note that if you enroll now, you may have to renew or reenroll once ETIAS goes into
effect. At least that's what the German officer told me a couple of years ago.
