We will be in Munich and want to drive to see friends in Lugano, Switzerland. Does anyone know what the roads are like along this route?

4-lane limited access expressway for the most part. There are a few issues like the need to buy Austrian and Swiss vignettes for the car. Just be aware that it is an 11 hour drive each way.
