Zurich to Schaan / Vaduz,Liechtenstein in December

Hello.

We will be in Zurich 27-31 December. After watching the show on micro-states a couple of weeks ago, I'd love to be able to take a day trip from Zurich to Schaan / Vaduz on either 29 or 30 December. I've looked at the train and bus websites, and I cannot decipher them. I did learn that the current train schedule is only valid through 11 December. and a new timetable will be published 12 December. Regardless, I cannot determine if the trains or buses run every day or only occasionally. Does anyone have any recent knowledge regarding this route via train or bus? Driving is not an option. Ideally, we'll be able to travel to Schaan / Vaduz, walk around for a few hours and then return to Zurich.

Trains in Switzerland run a minimum once per hour in both directions every day, so getting to Sargans is no problem. The bus from there to Vaduz should run frequently as well. I don't see what has to be deciphered. Just go to www.sbb.ch/en and put in Zurich Hbf as the start point and Vaduz Post as destination and you will see the options for any day and time of the week. Schedules for after Dec 11 will be added by and by, but they usually change very little, if at all.

Thank you. I was looking for the wrong destination name and not getting any results. I see many options using "Vaduz Post." I appreciate the assistance.

just be sure after experiencing Switzerland to lower your expectations for the walk around Vaduz.

There isn't much to see, I remember the McDonalds (on the highway so maybe not easy without a car) as ok.

You do get to put a tick in the FL box of your list.

Several years ago we spent about 3 hours in Vaduz in route from Zurich to Hohenschwangau, Germany and enjoyed it.
