Your input on must see destinations along our journey

Hi there,

We will be travelling mostly through Eastern Europe. Doing research on the major stops as we haven't been there before, but don't want to miss any amazing spots (I.e. nature, something unique or quaint - likely not churches or museums unless a real WOW) as we go from place to place. We have a car and close to a month in May and plan to go from Lake Como to Munich, Prague, Vienna, Budapest to Zagreb and down the Dalmation Coast. Have read quite a bit about Croatia and see lots of interesting places between the main spots there but really unsure of "not to miss" places along the journey between our other stops.

Don't want to be watching a travel show on TV after and see some amazing place that was only 15 minutes off the main road that we didn't even know about!

Really would value your insight.

Thank You,
Eileen from Winnipeg Canada

Consider this: get yourself at least two guidebooks and decide for your selves what is important to visit. No matter how long you are on this journey you will not see everything. Chances are that you will see something the television wags will have not. Then you can gloat.

In Croatia, Plitvice Lakes National Park. Since you will have a car, it won't be too bad to get to from Zagreb. You can check for the driving time on viamichelin.com. From the park to the Dalmatian Coast isn't too bad, either. We are very experienced travelers, who have been to Europe so many times I've lost count. I put Plitvice among the top natural sights, right up there with the Amalfi Coast and Cappadocia.

Thanks for the info about Plitvice Lake. We are staying at the Amalfi Coast in the first leg of our journey. haven't heard of Cappadocia - I see its in Turkey which we're not doing this time. Appreciate your help! Eileen
