Your Experiences in Callander Scotland

My fiancee and I are planning an October 2008 wedding in the Callander, Scotland area. Please share your experiences, tips, suggestions, and advice with us. We are currently attempting to coordinate the Marriage Visa, the local Registrar, the church, the B&B, the wedding dinner, photographer, a rental car, and the air tickets.

Any advice would be most welcome.

My husband and I drove around Scotland in 2002 and stayed 3 nights in Airth, not far from Callander. A must visit is Stirling castle. We stayed in Airth Castle..nice but not lavish.
Driving is tricky, but most roads are marked reasonably well. Scottish drivers think nothing of passing on a hairpin turn. Out favorite place to stay was the Glengarry castle hotel in the Highlands.
Don;t bother with Loch Ness, very tacky tourist.
We used Gotoday.com for our trip and just extended the car use and air flights to suit our needs. We have used gotoday twice and will use it again in Sept for a trip to France. hope this helps, susan
