Why do flights from Liverpool to Shannon show as 7 h long?

Hi everyone:
Thanks for all your help in answering questions on the England board for my upcoming Beatles trip with my daughter. Once we are finished with Beatleland, we are heading to Ireland. I want to book flights from Liverpool to Galway or Shannon, but whenever I enter the information, I get 7-11 hour flight results. Why is this? Then I tried some of the sites recommended by Rick Steves and they don't recognize Liverpool as a departure city. What am I doing wrong?

I cleared cookies and history from my computer and even tried on a library computer, but I'm getting strange results. I would appreciate any tips.

Thanks!

Are you making sure the search is for nonstop flights? Maybe you should try Manchester to Shannon for a direct flight to that area.

The only thing I could think of was you were using the wrong airport code.

LPL to SNN

I tried it on a couple of sights and there is not anything else that comes up when you type in Liverpool.
I thought of this when I miss typed a code and got a price of $2300 for a flight that should not have been over $300. That is when I saw I had entered a wrong airport code. That is all I could come up with.

Or a long lay over somewhere. Does make sense.

They are flying through a European hub, with one or more long layovers. When I entered a random date in September into skyscanner.com, I found a3 hour 50 minute flight, routed from Liverpool, to London Heathrow, to Shannon. I think it was BA. I suggest you check the skyscanner website.

My guess is that – if you return to London some way – you'll be able to find budget flights out of one of the smaller airports in the area, rather than Heathrow.

There are no non-stop flights between Liverpool and Shannon. However, if you go to Manchester airport, a quick trip by train, Ryanair does have a nonstop.

There are direct trains from LIverpool to Manchester airport with no change required. It takes just over an hour.
