I'd also like to wish everyone here a very Merry Christmas and many happy travels in the New Year! We already have snow here in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, so it looks like we will have a White Christmas. That's typical for this time of year. I don't like shoveling the driveway, but the local ski hills are VERY happy! Fortunately, the snow here tends to be dryer and lighter than the "greasy" type of snow they get in the Vancouver or Victoria areas, so it's easier to work with. United Airlines made it's inaugural flight (3 hours) from LAX to Kelowna yesterday, so lots of Californians will likely be here enjoying a White Christmas as well on the ski hills, while many Canadians will be heading for "warmer climates". To be competitive, WestJet is also running flights on that route now, and if rumours are correct, they may add direct SFO / YLW flights in the future. In the spring and summer, the focus will switch from skiing to golf and winery tours. Cheers!

Snowed here in the front range yesterday. Possibility of snow for Christmas Eve and Day, we'll see. Hope it does as my sister in law and her kids are coming from Albany Oregon. They want snow!! Happy holidays to all on the board.
Thomas, we were in Vienna last year at this time...wish we were back to sample more Punsch and be able to get out to Weinhof Zimmermann in Neustift am Walde...miss their Gruner Veltliner!!

Northern Scotland may be snowy in parts but the rest of Britain is expected to be warm (high single digits Celsius) and either wet or very wet. There's a degree of flooding today. Not so white here, then. Merry Christmas.

A couple of days ago Montreal was white, but after some rain it is now grey and ugly. But, snow is on the way! I leave for Paris on the 26th and am hoping desperately for only mild and snowless days there.

At the moment we're only expecting a 20% chance of snow on Christmas Eve which means it probably will melt before it hits the ground. Merry Christmas and Happy, Healthy 2013 to all on the Helpline! I wish you fantastic travel dreams and trips in 2013. (You all probably don't realize it but the Helpline, ETBD and Rick are with me on all our trips.)
And to the Towns and Villages Near Moscow Travel Group: See you on the 19 January!

...and a few miles north and up 2,000' in elevation, we will have snow on the ground if not in the air! Yes, looking forward to our January meet-up.

No, no snow, we rarely get it , and even more rare to get it at Christmas. It will likely be another green Christmas for us again,, sigh,, and I love snow too!

Corvallis had snow on Tuesday, a semi-rare occurance, but only rain predicted from now until after Christmas. Anyway, I'll be in California with my daughter on Christmas and no snow there, although the mtns around her do have snow on the peaks, hope it's still there when I come. Hope everyone here as a very Merry Christmas and for all those traveling over the holidays Safe Travels.

No White Christmas in St. Louis this year. And we're in a pretty bad drought (8 inches / about 20 cm below average) which is affecting barge traffic on the Mississippi. Snow or rain would be much appreciated!

Supposed to rain here and it is quite mild. Oh well, we had a bunch of snow 2 weeks ago, which was pretty at the Christmas Markets. Edit: It actually snowed in Frankfurt last night. Looked wonderful coming down and when I went to bed, there were a couple of inches already. The people at the Christmas Market must have loved this. This morning, it is almost all gone. sigh.

Merry Christmas to everyone, hope you have a very blessed and safe Christmas.
We are suppose to get 3 or 4 inches of snow starting tonight thru tomorrow. But it will be gone by Christmas day.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all! We had between 5 and a half and 6 inches of snow Wednesday afternoon and night which closed school yesterday and made getting around difficult. So I didn't go out and about much yesterday. So we might have a reasonably white Christmas. Snow doesn't stay very white in the city. We might get some more Christmas day but not as much as this storm that just past gave us. We knew it was coming a good 24 hours before it got here. We've had a very dry year and about 310 days since the last measurable snow so what we really need is the liquid stuff not the fluffy stuff. But we will take any moisture we get.

Leaving wet, rainy, and green Northern California tomorrow for the Colorado Rockies and snow! Love snow if we can "play" in it. I hear the ski resorts have gotten some good snow in the last couple of weeks. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Kinda bummed about the lack of snow in Germany right now. It came down quite hard in Munich two nights ago, but didn't stick. It's been getting increasingly mild over the last week, tomorrow is forecast to be in the low 50s! And wet. Not much different than a Northern California Christmas, actually. Well, except those are more green and less grey. But it did snow quite a bit early in the month so I can't complain too much.

We've had snow on the ground since the end of October. It started snowing again last night and with -22 C and forecast highs for Christmas in the -15 to -20 C range we can be pretty much assured of a white Christmas. I just hope it "warms up" enough that we can go out and enjoy some tobogganing without freezing our toes off.

We have spotty patches of snow covering parts of S.E Michigan. Some areas of the northern lower peninsula recieved as much as 18-24 inches of snow a few days ago. They are forecasting some snow Christmas Eve while Christmas will be sunny and warm (32 degrees). Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all who participate here. Especially to those who are so giving of their knowledge of specific travel ideas.
My wife is heading to Europe with a friend and without me in 2013 so I think I will have to go in the fall without her.

We are leaving the 27th for New Years in Paris, everyone thought we were crazy because it is so freezing cold. Suddenly we are looking at the forcast ahead and see it will be in the high 40's and low 50's, can't believe my eyes. Still packing for 20's and 30's, but what a bonus if that doesn't happen!

Hi Guys, Been staying in Amsterdam the last few days. No snow here. Rainy at first, then overcast, not too cold. Got up to 10 C today.(51 deg). We were going to head to Vreeswijk for Christmas eve and Christmas, but solid cold rain in the forecast, so we scrubbed it. A lot of smoke in the air here, though! Have a Merry Christmas, Honukkah, Kawanzaa, Saturnalia, Boxing Day, etc, etc... Good, lucky, safe travel to you all in 2013.

Crash, you forgot Festivus! That's today. We'll have a wet Christmas here, not a white Christmas. But I will down at the so-called Happiest Place On Earth on Christmas Day, where it will be about 66F. I hear it will snow there anyway though. Ahhh...the magic of Disney!

Its snowing here this morning, the first meaningful snow we've had. I was hoping for a brown Christmas because of my great dislike of winter driving. Merry Holidays.

The Christmas markets were amazingly beautiful when I was there 1 1/2 weeks ago. From Rothenburg, to Innsbruck and to the markets in the Salzkammergut region, there was lots of snow. I hadn't been in the snow in Germany since I lived there and I really enjoyed it. It was my White Christmas. Send me a PM if you want to see the pics in my blog. Merry Christmas, Frohe Weihnachten everyone!

We had a little bit of snow when we were in Germany earlier this month. And a couple of inches last weekend in Pittsburgh. Now it's raining. Not very pretty, but it will be beautiful inside when my sons and daughter-in-law join us for dinner. Merry Christmas and best wishes for a new year filled with peace and joy!

@Nigel, I don't think anyone wants me to air my grievances here. The exception will be my dissatisfaction of spending Christmas at Disneyland as opposed to Europe. The lights at Downtown Disney were nice tonight and I hear its 'magical' in Disneyland this time of year, so I will try to be patient with the crowds tomorrow and have a good time. As for my pole, I don't think my husband's ethnicity is anyone's business! :-) Merry Christmas all!!

At a little after 10 PM, Mon, Dec 24. It's snowing. Just enough now to cover the street. Expecting 1-3 inches on the ground by morning. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

It's all about the joy of Christmas. Whether it's white, or like here in So. Cal, a bit overcast and possible rain. It's about the joy of being with family and seeing the happiness around you. Everyone, have a wonderful Christmas and let the joy of the holiday be with you throughout the year.

Had a beautiful white christmas here in Michigan, except when driving and my little 3 year old grand daughter Ella Grace had fun playing in the snow before she returned to her home in sunny Florida! Now, the snow can go away.

I was glad to not have a white Xmas. I was flying out of Tampa that day, to get to Madrid. Chose to fly out of a southern stAte that day for a reason.....holiday storms seem to happen.....less likely to have a prob the further south u go. Then Xmas rolls around and what happens....the south gets slammed with super bad weather. Atl forecast 100 percent chAnce of rain. Landed in atl in bad fog (couldn't tell where the ground was til 5 feet of hitting ground), took off in bad rain.....made it though. Best flight ever with the least amount of turbulence. Even managed to sleep.
