Which train to the Rhine

We will be arriving in Frankfurt on June 9 @ approx. 1:30 pm. We have rooming booked in Bacharach for the same day. Can someone please help me out?I not sure what train we should take from the airport straight to Bacharach? We have a Eurail Global pass. Thanks in advance.

You'll catch a train from the Regionalbahnhof (not the Fernbahnhof) station at the FRA airport to Mainz. Trains run at 13:59, 14:59, 15:59. There's a 7-minute layover in Mainz, then you arrive in Bacharach at 15:22, 16:27, or 17:27. Just in case your plans for the global pass change... The RMV transit authority sells tickets at FRA station ticket machines; fare is 11€ each.

Do we stay on the train or do we have to change.

That's a change of train. There are no direct trains to Bacharach. You can find train itineraries for all of Europe at THIS PAGE.

Lynda, As Russ mentioned, you'll need to depart from the Regional Bahnhof at FRA (rather than the Fernbahnhof). You'll need to cross the street, but I can't remember the details. The route to the station should be well marked, or you can ask one of the staff. You will need to change trains, usually at Bingen. It's a very short change, so you'll need to be quick. As I recall, changing at Bingen only involves walking across the platform. The station in Bacharach is very small and not staffed. If the train stops at the appointed arrival time at a platform that seems to be in the middle of nowhere, it's time to disembark. There's only a Kiosk there for buying tickets. Which hotel are you staying at in Bacharach? When you leave the rail station, go to the main street and turn right, which will take you into the main part of town. Happy travels!

Lynda, Ken: There are no itineraries that call for a change in Bingen on the afternoon in question, only one change to the MRB train in Mainz.

"Is there a site that I can go to for the remainder of our trip?" The German railways (DB) site provides scheduling info - I gave it to you in the post above that says... "You can find train itineraries for all of Europe at THIS PAGE." Just click on "THIS PAGE." (For the PRICES of individual travel legs, you will not be able to get them all from the DB site and will have to consult the pages for the individual countries you plan to travel in.)
