I've been reading up on train stations in Madrid, and am a little confused as to which train station to use to get on the AVE fast train to Toledo? Is it the Charmatrin or the Atocha sation?
We will be staying near the Retiro Park / Salamanca area, and will be taking a bus or local train to get to the right AVE station. In Toledo, we'll be staying at the Hotel Kris Domenico.

We did this trip through Atocha station. Toledo is beautiful. Have a wonderful time.

From Atocha, Madrid, to Toledo is 25 minutes. The ticket you purchase will have the coach number and seat number printed on it. From the area where you will be staying, it is a very short ride by taxi. When you arrive in Toledo, you will find taxi service at the station to take you to your hotel. Great restaurant in Toledo for an evening meal: Restaurantes Casa Aurelil, www.casa.aurelio.com three locations, excellent food.

We had difficulty getting a train ticket to Toledo for the time that we needed so we took the Metro to the Plaza Eliptica stop and took the bus to Toledo from the bus station there. From the bus station we took a taxi to our hotel. The trip took less than one hour.
