Where to travel in Europe in 2 weeks.

Hello,

My boyfriend and I, are planning a two weeks trip to Europe in August from 8/7-8/24 of this year. I know it is the busiest and most expensive time, but it is the only time we are both off from work. We both want to go to Barcelona, but cannot agree on what other countries and/or how many we want/can/should visit. I personally would prefer to go to Barcelona-Zagreb/Dubrovnik-Montenegro/Bosnia-Herzegovina and or Slovenia, or just go to Croatia/Split and go Island Hoping. He prefers, Paris-Barcelona-Rome, and, if we have time left, perhaps a quick trip to Zagreb or any other nearby country. We are both struggling deciding where and what would be the cheapest way to make this trip, as well as what to see/do (countries/historical sites to visit/ accommodations/etc). Can anyone please help us!!!

Thank You!!!

Magaly

Magaly, mid-August will be really hot in Rome... are you prepared for that? It would help if you gave some information about your interests: beaches? museums? hiking? history? That will help narrow down the possibilities.

Thank You for your reply!

Rome: We would like to visit some historical sites in Rome, such as, the coliseum, museums, churches, ruins, and so forth. Can this be possible during August?

Hello magaly. Either of those travel plans would not be cheap. Where will you travel from ?

If you're in one of their North American gateway cities, keep an eye out for Turkish Airlines fare sales- you can sometimes get to Istanbul or other places in the region like Milan or some of the Balkan countries for several hundred dollars less than going into Spain or France, and then go a mix of train or low cost air carrier from there. The LCCs that operate flights into EU airspace have to meet similar safety standards to the USA's FAA requirements, even if the customer service on some of them manages to be worse than Spirit's sometimes.
