Where to stay in Lyon

We stayed at Hotel la Residence and paid 81 Euro in January. We had a large, clean, very nice room. We liked the location on a pedestrian street not far from the Perrache train station.

Another hotel that looked nice but was already booked when we inquired was Hotel des Celestins.

We stayed at the Celestins last July and were completey satisfied. I'd go there again.

Lyon is a marvellous city and I think the second most visited in France, after Paris, and with to-die-for food, too. Of course, you shouldn't skip Lyon, not that you were even asking about that.
