Where to stay in Klaipeda Lithuania

I am traveling to Lithuania in late spring/early summer and would like recommendations for places to stay in Klaipeda.

Oh, and if you have any recommendations for a reasonably priced Lithuanian spa, I'd love to hear them.

Thank you,
Nancy

When I visited in the summer of 2018, I did not find a lot of particularly attractive options for accommodations in Klaipeda. We ended up staying in an Air BnB. It felt to me like a 1970s-style "bachelor pad" apartment in a modern, high-rise building; it was perfectly OK, great location, easily walkable to the center of town, comfortable and clean (and actually had some great views from up that high). But it just seemed a little weird - no old world charm at all (a bit more like someplace I'd expect to bump into Austin Powers...). Probably just a legacy of what at the time passed for Soviet-era hipster culture. If you're interested, try doing a search on Air BnB for "Amber View Apartments," it was in a "modern" high-rise right next to the river.

Sorry, can't help you with a spa.

We stayed here for 2 nights last year on an OAT tour. https://nationalhotel.lt

It's got a 9.0 on Booking.com. It's in a great location and it's comfortable inside. The rooms are fine - think 80s decor and feel but the room was nicely sized.

In 2021 we spent 2 nights at the Radisson - ok hotel that was a short walk to the downtown area.

The Mercure Klaidpeda City is a bit north of the historic center but nice. When I extended my stay and didn't like the rate at the Mercure, I moved to the nearby Navalis Hotel. It was fine, but I don't remember any details.
