My husband and I will be traveling to Italy in June. We arrive in Pisa around noon. Our destination is the Cinque Terre. Should we take a side trip for one night to Lucca? Or should we travel directly to Monterroso where we will be staying for 3 nights?

I enjoyed Lucca, but it is in the opposite direction, so unless you really want to see it I would go straight to Monterroso. Where are you going after Monterosso? I don't know if you are aware of it, but there is a group of people from the Sacramento area that contribute to this helpline. We meet once a month, on the 3rd Saturday. There is information on the 2/19 meeting under the General Europe heading. We all have a passion for travel and between us have been to many locations.
