I'm pregnant and we're trying to plan one more trip before the baby comes. i think the latest I can travel is March/April, any suggestions for a one-week vacation somewhere in Europe? We just went to Italy for our honeymoon in October, so any other ideas appreciated.
Paris? It could be cold, but always beautiful. It should be warmer farther south - maybe Provence?
I'll plump for Madrid...nice and warm in March (upper 50's, lower 60's), and about $625 RT/pp from Dulles. Great things to see in Madrid, 3 or 4 good day trips, and its cheaper than other western European countries. Just remember, the week leading up to easter (March 23rd next year) can be busy, altho it seems most leave Madrid to view the Holy Week celebrations in cities like Sevilla. I usually book an apartment east of downtown (about 15-20 minutes from the center by nearby Metro) for 375 Euro/week....far cheaper and more comfortable than a hotel.
London! Lots of day trips to do. Theatre at night. Easy to get around!
Hi Cindy.... We love Paris in the springtime. Also, if you are game to drive to Burgundy , it is just a short drive to the south. You would have fast paced and relaxing at the same time.We take a cab from Paris to Orly and pick up our rental car and drive 2-3 hours to Montreal. The Burgundy canal is lovely and the medieval villages really nice. Also, another fun, but easy trip is Amsterdam and the bulb fields and the Keukenhof flower garden . Actually. you can easily drive all over the Netherlands for a lovely spring trip. Karen Brown has some lovely places to stay . Write me if you are interested in nice places in Burgundy or the Netherlands.
Thanks for all the great ideas! I think the next step is to price each one out and see if it fits our budget :D
Went to Paris the first week in April. Weather nice. I use gotoday.com excellent rates.
