Where to go in Sept/Oct?

Hello! It's been two years since our Europe music trip in June 2015 & we are ready to go back! We are looking at this Fall but not sure where to go... so many choices makes it difficult. Our top three picks seem to be:
France - Paris down to Mediterranean area
Greece - Athens, mainland areas & islands
Switzerland - Alps & trains & Montreaux

We are looking at 10 - 12 days and two flying days to stay at two weeks max.

Which one of the above would you choose in the Fall and why? Thanks in advance! Looking forward to reading all suggestions!

Well, we haven't been to Greece, but been in Paris/South of France in late Sept to mid-Oct, and in Switzerland for 3 short nights in early Oct. Weather was great for both. (Well, except for some torrential rain/flooding in the Cannes area, but we were in Provence at the time - experienced some local flooding).

I thought south of France just amazing at that time of year - we were in NiceCote D'Azur mid-Oct and the temps felt like July at home, but without the humidity.

I'd love to get back to Switzerland as well...and Greece is on my bucket list! Not much help, am I? ;)

I'd prob do Greece, but just because we haven't been there yet (as the previous poster said). If you haven't been to any of these places, it would be so hard to decide.

I can comment that as beautiful as Switzerland was, it was expensive. We lucked out because we couchsurfed, so didn't pay for accoms, and our hosts fed us breakfast and one made a nice buffet, so we didn't eat out much, but the food was really expensive. Hubby got a hot dog and fries from a street cart in Zurich - compared to what we'd pay here at home for street food, it was about 3x the price.

All 3 choices sound great. European Heritage Days in France will be third weekend of September - 16-17th. That's a great time to be in Paris, the only two days of the year that the public can tour some of the most gorgeous palaces in the city: National Assembly, Luxembourg (Senate), Hotel de Ville (Paris city hall) and the Elysee - presidential palace, among others. I just got back from RS Greece and the Peleponnese would be wonderful in September, with warm water (it's icy now) at the beaches. October may be a bit late for Greece - I've read reports that tourist places start to close up then. OTOH this year tourism is booming in Greece, partly because people don't want to go to nearby Turkey or Egypt, so even October may still be quite lively. If cost is a consideration, Greece is probably cheapest, Switzerland most expensive.

All three choices are good.

Greece would probably be your cheapest choice.

Switzerland would be your most expensive.

France, you get to enjoy Paris then move to the countryside in Provence. We took a week long river cruise on the Rhone, it was excellent. Don't just go to Nice and Monaco, go to places like St. Paul de Venice and Les Baux de Provence.

Having been to Greece it is easy to recommend it. Genuinely friendly people and the Greek Roman history. Great food too

Seeing you are from Kansas, I can understand why/how Switzerland made the list. I live between two mountain ranges so that would be #3 and France #2 by default

enjoy your trip to whichever destination you choose

Thank you for the feedback! We might be narrowing it down to France and might do a river cruise there with a few days in Paris before. If my husband would hurry up and retire we could stay longer and maybe get to all the places on our bucket list :)
