Maybe Rick Steves has this information in his guide book. If not, you can email Rick's staff. I emailed them a question yesterday and got a reply today! The staff here is really GREAT and can answer any question. Of course someone reading this forum may help you out too, but I just want you to know how great the service is when you email the staff!!
Have a great trip!!!

The Hotel Steno is a great place to stay. The owner Matteo is really nice. You have a great view of the town while still in the old part of the town.

not sure what reasonable is to you but Albergo Pasquale is wonderful.a/c is costly but worth it in summer. You might also look into Sta Margarita Ligure a short train ride away and well worth it. I stayed at Hotel Nuova Rivera
fans only with a cheaper annex see Ricks guidebk for details and other options.

Ditto to JS's post. The Albergo Pasquale (in Monterosso) is wonderful. Great location, views and a quick stroll from the train station - Oh, friendly service too. Go to www.pasini.com or e-mail to paquale@pasini.com. Buon Viaggio!

In the Cinque Terre I think the best villages for overnight accomodation are Monterosso and Vernazza.
Vernazza has lower priced places. I recommend read about all the accomodations that are in your price range, in those two villages, in the book "Rick Steves" ITALY.

An apartment that was remodeled to create 3 or 4 guest rooms.

It's been a while since we were there, but RS' suggestion that you can find a decent place by chatting with the folks at the cafe is TRUE. We loved Vernazza, arrived in town, had only a place for the night, and had lined up 3 more nights with one chat in the cafe by the harbor with a nice young girl who started calling locals who rent rooms. I know it seems nuts, but you might wanna just go with the flow. It was incredible!

We stayed in Riomaggiore using MarMar (listed in R Steves books) - there were 4 of us. View was limited, but still could see the ocean. And boy could we hear it - it was wonderful. We encountered folks arriving that did NOT have prior arrangements and could not find a place in town. We paid 110 Euro per night for an apt (kitchen, balcony, slept 6 and not too many stairs!)

I also stayed in Riomaggiore, using Mar-Mar rooms. I didn't have an ocean view, but I believe some of their properties do have that? I was very pleased with the room and the service.

You might also want to have a look at the website for La Torretta in Manarola, as it might be just what you're looking for. Check www.torrettas.com for details.

I chose to stay in Riomaggiore, as I felt it was a bit less crowded than Vernazza and a bit less "touristy" than Monterosso al Mare. I would definitely stay there again!

Cheers!!!
