Flying from Frankfurt via Iceland on Icelandair. Where will I go thru EES ? If Iceland, has anyone experienced this and how much time was necessary. I just got a change in flight and it looks very tight in Reykjavik. I did this pre-EES and was o.k.
Iceland is part of Schengen, so I suspect, Iceland.
If you're flying Frankfurt → Reykjavik → non-Schengen destination on one ticket, you'll normally go through EES and passport control in Reykjavik, because that's where you're leaving the Schengen Area. EES records are made at the external Schengen border.
If this is your first trip using EES, allow some extra time as your facial image and fingerprints may need to be recorded. Processing times can vary depending on how busy the airport is, so a very short connection could be tight. If your flights are on the same Icelandair booking, the airline will usually assist if a delay causes you to miss the connection.
