Also, some backpack suggestions are welcomed.
Any store that sells luggage will also sell money belts.
We bought money belts at AAA. Mine is the around the waist type, and my husband got the one that slips onto his belt and down inside his pant leg.
I modified ours slightly by putting the plastic cover off one of those cheap 2 year pocket calendars inside to keep the contents of the belts dry in the heat of the Mediterranean.

You can find money belts at Kohls, Sears, Target. We got our backpacks at Scheels Sporting Goods.
Eagle Creek money belts can be found at REI and at Mori Luggage and Gifts. Mori is in most of the local malls.
RD,
First, regarding the Money Belt. You can check www.eaglecreek.com/store_locator/search_results.php?state=GA this web link for Eagle Creek dealers in the Atlanta area. Also check Rick's Travel Store, as there's also a Money Belt listed there.
Regarding the Backpack, I use an Eagle Creek model, so you could look at their packs when you're buying the Money Belt. Check the EC website first, so that you have a general idea on which model(s) you might be interested in. I prefer a panel-load pack (with zippers and can be locked) rather than a top-load pack (often with a drawstring at the top).
Whichever Backpack you decide on, it's very important to make sure you're properly measured for your torso length. Most of the weight should rest on your hips, not your shoulders. A few other features you might consider are a "stowable harness" (prevents the straps from being damaged by airport conveyor systems) and a detachable Daypack (works great for carry-on if the main pack has to be checked).
You could also have a look at Rick's line of Packs in the Travel store. There have been discussions of these on the Helpline in the past, but I don't have the links on hand.
Good luck!!!
RD - Head to the Samsonite store in Commerce for backpacks and money belts at good prices! Also, Mori Luggage & Gifts in 2nd level of Mall of GA has moneybelts - or head across the blvd to REI near Costco!
Ciao,

Wal-Mart, 4 or 5 dollars and just as good as the pricey ones. Ours have taken 7 trips over 16 years and are in just as good shape now as when new.
