where do you keep your passport and tickets?. Do you keep in neck pouch or waist pouch until needed. Thank you for any advice.
Keep in the money belt unless we need it that day. Then it goes into a secured pocket in our shirt or pants.
Keep passport in the hotel safe, except airline tickets, which we do not get ,, we just have a print out of a booking, which you don't actually need to get on the plane, so I just leave that where ever.. its totally replaceable. I bet tickets are too,, do they still give out actual paper tickets?
We keep our passports, airline nickets, Rail Pass, birth certificate, credit cards and ATM cards in our Neck pouch or in our passport holder which actually holds more stuff and has slots for credit cards.
You shouldn't need real tickets (always all carriers have gone to e-tickets now exclusively) but I always put my passport in a safe in the hotel, or if one doesn't exist I carry it.
I keep both my passport and my husband's (no tickets) in a pouch that is attached to the inside of my purse.
There are lots of times especially when using frequent flyer tickets with partner airlines that cannot be handled as electronic. Same thing applies because some airports in Asia cannot handle electronic tickets - in these cases the airline will issue a paper ticket which is a pain to carry and keep safe.
In general, always keep these documents in a hotel safe if it is an option. Else carry in a backpack.
If you do have paper tickets, they are to be treated like cash FYI.
I have my passport and plane ticket and a little cash & debit card in my neck pouch upon arrival at airport.
After arrival and Customs and getting cash at the ATM at the airport, the Passport & airline ticket & debit card go into my waist pouch which already contains my credit card, medical card & drivers license. I get the debit & credit cards out when I ned them.
Audrey said it so well. I agree.
I keep everything on me.I don't like the waist pouches or money belts.I wear a jacket with inside long pockets with a Velcro closure I made myself. I put everything in there and close it. I also have a credit card side purse where I put all my cards. When I need them , they are handy in my large pockets and I don't have to dig inside of a small pouch and keep my head down.I also carry copies of my passport and air tickets just in case Police asks me to show them.
I dont like money belts. I converted to the neck pouch 15 years ago. It is much easier to draw out of my shirt and re insert. I keep everything of value in it including the 50 dollar bills I carry to negotiate with.
I keep our passport in a safe wherever we travel
BUT I carry credit size copies of things documents like medications taken, who to contact in an emergency, BANK phone NO for reporting lost credit cards {we used that 2 years ago} and anything else I think might be useful. These I carry in a small plastic "buisness card" holder which takes NO space in my "holster" style handbag which I carry when walking aroung a foreign city.
I also photocopy all documents(those above as well as including vouchers prepaid for trip - which this year is an eight week trip round the world) and e-mail them to my hotmail address where I can get them ANYWHERE in the world.
