What time is it? Traveling or Communicating with Europe for the Next Week.

Much of Europe set their clocks back an hour at 03:00 27 October.

Those places participating in the US will not do it until 02:00 3 November.

So for about a week, the ususal time difference might not apply unless you live in Arizona and you are checking on Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iceland, or Turkey.

We are in Lucca so we gained an hour today and will gain another hour on November 3. Nice!

Well where I grew in Ireland they have kept their tradition - clocks go back after second mass on Sunday morning!!!

Time zones are an administrative overhead and a relict from the 19th century.

One time for the whole planet is sufficient.

Well where I grew in Ireland they have kept their tradition - clocks
go back after second mass on Sunday morning!!!

Is why i said "Much of Europe..... " generalities never work. And first hand information is good too, as the Internet sources say "Now, with shorter evenings on the horizon, clocks are set to 'fall back' an hour at 2am on October 27, 2024."

One time for the whole planet is sufficient.

So, right now its 10:45 for the entire planet? Hmmmmm Dont know why everything has to be a political debate; but for the sake of nonsense, I will help out:

Just a heads up, mainly for Americans if they need to contact a hotel or a guide in Europe over the next week. Sometimes a good to know what time you are calling.

I'm in the UK. I read that due to inflation we were only supposed to set the clocks back 48 minutes.

LOL.

No political debate; there will be a moment in the future when you will recognize that there is no sunset and no sunrise. The nonsense is the time-wise "earth-is-flat"-mindset.

I am horrible with time zones…. I just have to keep places on my world clock on my phone and check regularly.

Frank II, lol!

Yes but can you set the date back? I'd like another yesterday myself.

Happy travels!

Well in spite of Mr E's reminder I was still late at Church tonight in Seattle, having got the change the wrong way round- thinking there was now a 9 hour time difference when it's actually 7 hours.

Normally on time change day I check the Traffic Cams on Snoqualmie Pass for the right time, but the autumn has been so mild both in the UK and in WA that I'm not in winter mode yet.

My husband has a weekly phone date with his father, and he was trying to work out this morning what time his dad would call. He got it right! This week always gets us. The same happens in the spring quite often.

Since "much of Europe" incl. France already has set the clocks back one hour, then I shall have to wait a week , ie until this coming Sunday, to align the time difference of 9 hours.
