I think this has been posted at least once but never hurts to try again. “What should I do with 4 days in Budapest (or London or Rome or ….)?” That question will not get you many useful responses
Why?
- Okay, four days? Define a “day”. The day you come, the day you
leave and two more.
Dates can be important because
some things are closed on Saturday or Sunday or Monday sometimes.
Christmas or August? Or some time in between? Dates please. If
nothing else, how would you like to find out the best cultural event
of the year that occurred while you were there but you missed it
because you didn’t provide dates or someone would have told you?How are you getting here and how are you leaving? Not essential, but
with it you get more detailed information and suggestions. If you want any sort of detail, I am happy to do it, which hotel.
Yes, it matters if you want details. A three-day tour of the city
from a Buda hotel is going to be a different animal than a 3-day tour
from a Pest hotel. And if you had said Buda, the first thing you
would have been told is please don’t stay in Buda. Which might be
the answer to a question you didn’t know to ask.If part of your question is about which hotel, then what is your
budget and what is your preference 3 star or 4 or 5 star? At least
that much. Maybe you want a Classic building, maybe you like modern.
Maybe you don’t care, just cheap. How old are you? Just generally, cause if you are under 30, I have
one idea, if over 50 another. If over 65 the metro is free. What are you interested in, what’s a fun day for you, or why did you
choose this city? What are your travel plans before and after the visit to this
location.
“My husband and I are retired, and we are arriving in Vienna on June 1st and then taking the train to Budapest on June 4th. We have a return flight home on June 9th. We have chosen to stay at the Hotel Moments, is that a good choice? We chose Budapest because of the images we saw on the Viking Cruise advertisements. It looked beautiful, but we don’t know much about it. Can you tell us how to use the time there.” That question will get you 20 or more replies from a half dozen or more contributors.
