what kind of train pass or train ticket should I buy and save more for my 10 days trip

Hi,
I am making plan for a 2 weeks trip: From Seville to Barcelona, Paris, Room, Venice, Madrid, Seville.
Barcelona 3 nights.
Paris 3 nights
Rome 2night,
Venice 1 night
Madrid 1 night

I wonder what kind of train ticket should I buy to save money, Globle pass, flexible pass, or point to point ticket? Thanks.

I can't answer your rail questions, but I wouldn't train from Venice to Madrid. That is one VERY long ride, on multiple trains. Fly instead.

Liketeahi,

You may want to read this helpful website seat 61.com to help you decide if a rail pass is worthwhile for you.

As a side note... Do consider amending your itinerary,
otherwise you'll be spending more time on trains or planes than at your desired destinations. You have too many destinations and you're not giving yourself enough time to explore and enjoy each one of them.

Slow down, sometimes less is more :-)

And I wouldn't take the train from Rome to Venice to stay one night, then fly to Madrid for another single-night stay. That gives you virtually no time to see either Venice or Madrid.

Paris to Rome needs to be a flight, too. That's 12 to 18 hours by train. Even flying you'll have less than 1-1/2 days in Rome. That falls in the "Why bother?" category for me.

Your title indicates that your trip is 10 days, but the post itself says "2 weeks". How many nights do you have, and are you trying to see Seville or not?

If you have only ten nights, Barcelona, Paris, Rome and Madrid are already too much to try to see.

Since you're currently planning 4 train rides in 3 countries, the Global pass is out. A Select pass is the one that covers 3 countries, starting at 5 days of travel within 2 months. Pass prices depend on your age (over or under 28) and whether you're traveling with a partner. All of your trains require seat reservations and the pass holder reservation prices are relatively high to and from Paris.

Flying can be quite competitively priced for the longer routes to and from Paris; see www.skyscanner.com. I would also cut the number of destinations for this trip.

Rick’s Train Travel Time & cost Map gives you an overview of faster train travel times in hours, as well as regular (full-price) 2nd-class fares. Without knowing your travel dates, I can't guess whether you'll find good advance-purchase ticket discounts available. They go on sale about 4 months in advance.
