Christmas Eve Gift! It is a southern tradition but they are not sure where it comes from. It is even told about in the book "The Yearling". The point of the game is to say it to others before they say it to you. My Granddaddy Emmett's family always did this (they lived in north Georgia). The first person to say it at each holiday gathering got an "extra" present- usually homemade candy or fruit- or in good years a box of chocolate.
