Going to Portugal the first 2 weeks in October and travelling from Lisbon north to Porto with stops along the way (Combria, Obidos, Douro Valley)
Can anyone give me some pointers what kind of clothing to pack for that time of the year. TIA
Weather at that time of year could be anything - you should prepare for hot, sunny, cold, wet, and windy. You will probably experience at least a little of each of those.
Pat, David is right. We spent a month in Portugal around that time of year in 2011, and we experienced everything from chilly to hot, and from dry as a bone to torrential downpour. The best way to prepare for such extremities would be to dress in layers, maybe a short sleeve top and a cardigan sweater and a light jacket. Also, my advice would be to always carry an umbrella, perhaps a small one that can fit in your purse when it's not raining. It comes in handy, trust me! Other than that, I can't really think of anything else. Portugal is awesome! Enjoy it!
