Hi, we will be traveling to the Murren/Gimmelwald area during the time period of September 13th through the 16th and just looked at the forecasted weather and it looks like "50"ish degree weather, has anyone been in the area in mid September that can let me know if that is a cold 50 degrees or will I be OK with a mid range jacket-I am from Colorado so I'm used to colder temp's just not sure if I can think of Switzerland being comparable to the weather here ? Did want to do lot's of outdoor activitieshiking and bike riding. Thanks,
Terry
Chris from Jersey (the island, not the shore) reports there was snow on the upper slopes just the other day. Watched European Golf tournament this morning playing in Cran-Montana on the south side of the Berner Oberland and they looked mighty cold. 46 deg F. Yesterday was worse they said.
Hmmmm.....thanks Sam, so we will be coming from the Cinque Terre region to Switzerland, looks like we may have to pack some long underwear!
We were actually there (for a day) 2 yrs ago end of Sept - we had an absolutely amazing sunny gorgeous day...but maybe we were lucky...when we packed, I actually had hubby bring the fleece vest liner for his coat as I knew we'd be in Switzerland - totally unnecessary...I believe I even had to stuff my lightweight North Face coat in my daypack...(and from Nova Scotia, so I'm not allergic to cold, but we had fine fine weather there)
I am hoping this an omen for the upcoming ski season.
I see today they played golf in sunshine and wearing short sleaved shirts in Crans-Montana.
keep those warm/sunshine thoughts coming----the snow is good, but I see that alot! in Colorado, so perhaps the snow could wait until the end of september to come in Switzerland ? Thanks Chris, I will check out your links! Terry
