Currently planning a trip in late march to april 2012 to Munich, Salzburg, Mauthausen, Vienna, Nuremberg and Zurich. We will also be skiing for a few days in the Zillertal of Tyrol, Austria. As this would be our first time visiting the area, we would like to know what kind of weather to expect during the period and what to pack for the trip. Thanks!

This probably won't help too much, but... You can expect a wide range of temperatures. Anything probably from just above freezing to as high as 20° C. In early April last year, I was wearing shorts doing yard work, although last spring was particularly warm and dry. Zillertal will likely be the coldest place on your list. As a best guess, I would prepare for cool rainy weather (5-15°), and layer underneath if it gets colder.

Thank you for the replies. I did try to search weather underground for more information about the weather in Mar/Apr but am unable to find anything more than the current weather forecast.

Min, try again. Below the box for location is a line in small type for the time period, from-to, you will be there.

On wunderground.com, select the blue tab titled "Travel and Activities" then click on "Travel Planner" for historic records of a specific time period.
