weather in France for May

Average temp in Paris for month of May is 68*F according to RS "Weather in Europe" link elsewhere on this web site.

I was in Avignon at the end of May and it was fabulous weather...probably 62 degrees during the day, which I think was a little unusual.

I was in Nice, Arles and Paris in mid May. Nice was sunny and warm (26 celsius), Arles was cloudy and moderate (20 celsius) and Paris was rainy and cool (14-16 celsius). I have heard that May can be unpredictable.

I once traveled across France from the Swiss border, through Burgundy, to the Loire, to Normandy, to Chartres and ending in CDG during early May. Although this didn't cover the more Mediteranean-influenced south, I found the weather very pleasant throughout, ranging from about 18 C during the day to 10 C at night.
